Violence Strikes.
This is an earlier version of an illustration I recently did on the subject of 'domestic violence in rural India'.
I do not know what fixation I have with using only black and white in almost all illustrations that I'm doing these days, I guess it is a phase...It is also kind of similar in terms of the composition to something that I did a while back that also happens to be up on the blog in a previous entry and I refuse to disclose which one it is...hehe.
All feedback welcome. Have a good day!

IllustrationFriday : Celebrate/ Happy birthday Ma!
A very appropriate topic for the week.
A very happy valentine's day to all and more importantly...a verry verrry happy haapy birthday to Mommy.
I'm guessing you got it but if you didn't, the lower image is an attempt to do a caricature of my mother.
So much that happened as we grew one more year older... I wish I was at home and out of this hostel for today... and that Devika(my lovvly sister) was still in Delhi (she shifted to Chennai recently) ...Ah! And I miss the chocolate cake. Miss you all.
Love. .Peace. .Happy.

Eruptions and more...
This is for a 'Comic Book Workshop' in which we had to come up with a 10 page- comic, two out of which are here...However for a course in 'Screen Printing', these were the only two pages that I took forward for printing on fabric to create surfaces as prints. The comic, My comic is named 'Eruptions', as you might see why...the pages are not in order, the first one that you see is actually the 2nd page and the second one the 5th page in the actual comic book. All feedback welcome because this is my first attempt in building a narrative in panels.
Have a good day!

Travelling Blues
I was on my way back from home (Delhi) back to college (Gujarat)...I don't know if its just me but I really didn't want to come back this time. It was cold and very verry early in the morning and celebration had suppressed the desire to sleep. So there I was, with my tummy feeling weird, wanting to pee, out in the cold, waiting in a looooong queue for the ticket to get printed. The rest is in the scratchy illustration right above this that I drew in the airport later.
